Stevenage Update
Hello.
Speaking after a very convincing win against a young Stevenage team last night. It was sponsors night which always makes the ground feel a little bit better, the general feeling was we played some extremely good football, culminating in a 7-2 score line! As said they were a young team but all the same the way we went forward was fantastic, so quick and at last so clinical!
A special mention to Josh Castiglione. An 18 year old who had previously had a short trial with Stevenage. In my opinion he was exceptional and showed the opposition what they missed out on!!
Moving on and into the weekend where we play our first "competitive" game against Cheshunt. We need to have the same mentality towards that match as shown last night and not only to be winning these sort of games but performing and scoring regularly.
It must be a frustrating time for the likes of Scott Bridges and Ryan Ingrey, both are suspended fro the first league game of the season (Scott four more to follow.) They both have showed a great deal of character to remain positive and I'm sure once both bans are up they will be fighting for a starting place.
It did seem last night that we had made real progression towards the goal of being ready to start the season in the right manner. Hard work, quality and execution of chances were all of the highest level.
Long may that continue.
Cheers
SC
