At Last, Good Results….
For a change I have a blog to report some good results. A 2-1 win against Kings Langley on Saturday then followed up by a convincing 3-0 win away to St Ives.
At last we have got ourselves into form that we can be pleased with. I was not at the game on Saturday due to being away but left Ada in charge. I was really pleased for him especially because he like all of us has taken the three defeats to heart, so for him to get the result was great.
Last night both Ada and I took the game at St Ives. The lads did themselves proud. The attitude of them all was brilliant, from the first minute to last they were all "Up for it".
It does beg the question "why?" but let's look forward. The general play was of a good standard. We pressed and then kept the ball very well. Our set plays looked very dangerous. In fairness to St Ives they had a few chances and could have been a bigger threat if one of their early chances had gone in.
My main instruction to the boys was to keep a clean sheet. We did that, but only just. We still need to reduce the amount of opportunities our opposition get but we know that. I think the key word with us is "Belief" we must think we are good enough, we have shown it now and to keep it up is our task.
Onto the FA Cup this weekend and a very tough tie away to Thurrock. Obviously it's nice to go in on good form but we will be taking nothing for granted. Thurrock are pretty much level in terms of standards to ourselves so we are expecting a real tough one, may even have to take a replay?
Logging off now, yet again thank you for the support, especially over such a testing time as lately.
Cheers
