Not The Worst Result
Hi to all!
A reasonably satisfying evening spent at Biggleswade Town where us “Crows” played out a 1-1 draw that the home team would have been happier with than us!
That said with five regular first team players out and off the back of a hard fought victory at the weekend we were certainly “Under strength”
It was the old adage of a game of two halves with the weather playing a big part in this. Biggleswade took full advantage of the conditions and with their very first shot on target scored to put us once again on the back foot and with a deficit to overcome. John Frendo duly obliged to make things level and it was all set up for us to take full advantage of the second half wind.
We had one effort from John that for some reason was disallowed and then probably the best chance fell to big Josh who unfortunately couldn’t keep his header down from an excellent Josh Castiglione corner.
We were on top but always aware of the threat they had on the break. They had a couple of opportunities but in general it was all our play to get the elusive winner.
It wasn’t to be and a draw was the outcome. Not the worst result with all the variables considered but slightly disappointing all the same.
On to Saturday and a break from the League once more. A FA Trophy match against Eastbourne Borough FC. It will be tough but the lads I’m sure will have the belief that they can get something out of the tie. For to progress to another round would and has been the aim.
Hopefully we can see plenty of travelling “Crows” at the Eastbourne match to be cheering us on?
Thank you,
Steve C
