A vastly improved second half performance saw Royston claim the points and move up to 3rd place in the league.
Following a rather turgid first half, in which neither team impressed, it was Royston who asserted themselves on the game at the beginning of the second period. Starting the half at a far quicker tempo and playing with greater purpose, they were rewarded within 9 minutes of the restart with the opening goal. A deep corner from Sam Corcoran was met by Adam Murray who saw his header blocked. Fortunately for Royston the ball fell at the feet of Gus Scott-Morriss who gleefully prodded the ball home, to the delight of the home support.
With Royston now controlling the game, both possession wise and territorially, the Crows increased their lead in the 77th minute. A long ball into the Bedworth area was not effectively dealt with by the visiting keeper under challenge from Murray. The resulting punch only reached the edge of the area, where Josh Castiglione was waiting and he drilled a first time effort into the corner of the net.
Royston continued to control the game, but nearly conceded an injury time goal, however a combination of Joe Welch and Scott-Morriss ensured that they kept a clean sheet, as they recorded their fourth consecutive league victory and continued their climb up the table.
