Royston Town dominated this well-contested match against Nuneaton Borough from start to finish in very wet and challenging conditions. In a first half that mainly saw the home side controlling play well with patient build-up and possession play. Man of the match, exciting winger Isaac Galliford scored both Royston goals in the first half with his first coming from a good flick pass by midfielder Ed Asafu-Adjaye and Galliford surged purposefully into the penalty box to slot home low past Tony Breen in the Nuneaton goal on 15 minutes. Galliford’s second strike came on 27 minutes when he found himself centrally latching on to a low cross ball from effective full-back Fin Titchmarsh switching the ball onto his left foot and placing a nice shot just inside the post. Royston continued to push on with the front players Brandon Adams, Harry Draper and Matt Bateman all causing problems but Nuneaton held out to keep the score-line down on this rain-sodden second half that saw players struggling to keep their feet at times. Nuneaton battled to the end causing Royston keeper Joe Welch some concerns in the last ten minutes but basically, it was a solid home win for the Crows to extend their winning run to four games.
