MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE TEAM

Following the previously announced changes to the club’s management structure there have also been changes made to the backroom staff at Garden Walk. But just who makes up the team behind the team?

Scott Taylor – Player Performance Coach

Scott Taylor is entering his 10th season as Player Performance Coach at Royston Town. He previously held the same position at Cambridge United, Preston North End, and Peterborough United.

In addition to his coaching duties, Scott will also oversee player care this season. This aligns with his work in corporate wellbeing, where he helps businesses improve the physical and mental health of their employees.

Jason Maguire – Lead Goalkeeping Coach

Jason Maguire is entering his third season as Lead Goalkeeping Coach at Royston Town. He is a former manager of Loughborough Dynamo and has also played at Barnet and Boreham Wood. Jason has a wealth of experience in goalkeeping coaching and is passionate about helping goalkeepers reach their full potential.

 

Lewis Endacott – 1st Team Coach

Lewis Endacott is joining the 1st team coaching staff on a permanent basis this season. He is already the Women’s Manager at Royston Town and is well-versed in non-league football. Lewis is a highly motivated and experienced coach who is committed to helping the 1st team achieve success.

 

James Smith – Lead Physiotherapist

James Smith is the Lead Physiotherapist at Royston Town. He has previously worked at a number of clubs, including the Maltese National Team, Braintree Town, and Stevenage. James is a highly qualified and experienced physiotherapist who is dedicated to providing the 1st team with the best possible care.

When he’s not at football, he is most likely found searching for his ball on a golf course somewhere!

Matt Waldron –  Head Of Recruitment

A new addition to the club’s backroom staff, Matt has worked at QPR, Leyton Orient, Colchester United and Norwich City. He is also a UEFA A Licensed coach.

To add to his experience, he had a long non-league playing career and was also
Assistant Manager at Welling United in the National League.

 

Kane Wears – Data Analyst

Kane is a UEFA A Licence Coach, who has held roles as First Team Manager, Head of Recruitment, Academy Manager & First Team Coach for a number of professional clubs and has more recently worked within the National League & the EFL. Kane has used his experience as an analyst in deriving data to support the recruitment process, in opposition analysis & to help support & develop the players within the club.

 

Chief Scout

Another new addition to the staff at Garden Walk is our new Chief Scout. He has worked in both scouting and recruitment roles at professional and semi-professional levels. He began his career in League 2 working on recruitment for players for his club’s academy, U16s-U21s as well as first-team recruitment.

He then moved on to become Chief Scout at a well-respected Step 3 club. His work contributed to the club reaching the first round of the FA Cup, as well as achieving promotion to National League.

Alongside his work for Royston Town, our new Chief Scout is currently working for a professional club in a role that focuses on emerging talent and recruiting players from U16 through to U21s. He has a strong background in U21 football and has experience of arranging loan moves for players.
