BATEMAN HEADS BACK TO BERKO

Royston Town FC can today confirm that Matt Bateman has decided to leave Garden Walk and rejoin fellow PitchingIn Southern League Premier Central side Berkhamsted.

Chairman Steve Jackson said

“Everyone at the club is obviously disappointed to see Matt depart but we fully understand his desire to help a club close to his home. During both of his spells at the club, Matt has always been a model professional and we wish him all the very best in his new venture.”

Steve Jackson continued,

“Our fans can rest assured that we are already working on securing a replacement for Matt.”

Matt has this message for the Crows faithful,

“Crows,

It’s been a pleasure, but unfortunately, it’s time for me to move on for a new challenge closer to home.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at the club, from the players, staff, board and of course, you fans…especially the ones who offered up their wives  😉

I wish you all the best for the season and I’ll be back to visit soon for sure.

Up the Crows!”

Manager Chris Watters added

“Matty is a great lad both on the pitch and in the dressing room. His attitude is always top-notch and he always gave 100% in a Royston shirt. I know that he was a real fan favourite here but he was made an offer that was just too good for him to refuse. Everyone at the Club wishes him well and thanks him for his efforts in a Crows shirt.”
