TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW: 30th Nov & 1st Dec
Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC, Royston
Town Women and Royston Town Reserves.
First up, Royston Town are on the road when they travel to Lincolnshire to
take on Stamford AFC in the Southern League Premier Central on Saturday,
3pm kick-off. Last weekend Stamford’s game was called off away at
Lowestoft while Royston got a 3-1 home victory against Redditch United,
Royston Town still had a game in hand over Stamford and got a 4-0 victory
at Biggleswade Town. Royston’s last game at Stamford ended with Royston Town
winning 2-1 over there However, the game was more remembered with the goalkeeper
merry-go-round. Stamford took the lead through Jack Duffy before Royston
won with Andronicos Georgiou and an own goal, Stamford changed their
keeper 4 times. Stamford’s keeper was sent off after a foul on Samson Esan
and they put Billy Bennnett in goal, who later swapped with Will Glennon and then Billy
Bennett was put back in goal, Will Glennon was back in goal again after a
nasty injury to Billy Bennett.

Next up, Royston Town Women are on the road once again in the cup when
they travel to Essex to take on Bowers & Pitsea Ladies in the 3rd Round
of the Eastern Region Women’s League Cup, Sunday, 3pm kick-off. Royston
Town Women are looking to bounce back after a late heartbreak against
Fulham Women in the Women’s FA Cup last weekend, but regardless of the
result they have done the club proud. Royston Town beat Colney Heath
Women 4-0 in the 2nd round, while Bowers & Pitsea Ladies beat Mulbarton
Wanderers Ladies 7-0.

Last up, Royston Town Reserves host Ampthill Town in the Spartan South
Midlands Division One, Saturday, 3pm kick-off. Royston Town are hoping to
get a win after a few losses and with last weekend’s game being called off.
Our last meeting with Ampthill Town at home in the league was a 1-1 draw
with Louie Pullen scoring our goal.
