The Ressies put in a fine display in the shadow of Heathrow with a skeleton side on Saturday.
With eight players missing this was always going to be tough for the 2nd string but the Crows set about this game with a growing confidence and both GREGG JACKSON and the returning RUSSELL BULL had chances to open the scoring but the home keeper had other ideas and made a handful of stunning saves.
It was a different story for Royston keeper DAMIEN WILLIAMSON who was carried from the pitch just 20 minutes into his first game this season with a bad ankle injury.
JAMES MERIDETH took over between the posts and rolled back the years with a fine display of 'keeping.
As the game rolled on Royston looked the more likely to score and so it proved when BULL smashed home MATTY BRENNAN's deep cross.
"We are sitting in a good place in the table and now have a two game break with cup games now. We had a freakish availability issue that hopefully will never happen again so we will only get stronger." commented Manager Kev Wilson.
The Ressies are at home to Stotfold Tuesday night.
