Result Drew 1-1
Royston Scorers Majic
Royston Town Vets gained a well-earned point against a skilful and competitive Haverhill Rovers Vets in their first game of the Cambs F.A. Veterans League 1.

In a closely-contested first half both sets of defences dominated and few clear cut openings were created. The one good chance of the half for Town fell to them just before the break but Majic shot wide.

Town went ahead after 70 minutes when John Moulding won the ball on the half-way line and put an accurate pass through to the in-form Majic who controlled the ball and beat the advancing 'keeper with a well-placed right foot shot into the corner of the goal.

Haverhill fought back strongly and forced Simon Dobson into two fine saves. However when he failed to collect a cross from the right wing the visitors headed in to draw level.

Both teams strived for a winner but in the end a draw was a fair result.
