CLUB STATEMENT: SUPPORTER INCIDENT AT HITCHIN TOWN FC
We have been made aware of an incident at last Saturday’s match against Hitchin Town, where two individuals identifying themselves as supporters of Royston Town were ejected from the ground due to their use of foul language and abusive behaviour. Such anti-social conduct is inexcusable and entirely unacceptable. This behaviour will not be tolerated at Garden Walk, and we expect our supporters to uphold the club’s standards both at home and when travelling to away fixtures.
This incident is in direct opposition to the fundamental beliefs and established stance of our club. We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone, whether at Garden Walk, or when following the Crows away. Anti-social behaviour of any kind is wholly unacceptable and contradicts our values of sportsmanship, respect, and positive community engagement. We believe in supporting our team with passion and enthusiasm, but never through actions that bring the club or our wider fanbase into disrepute.
The behaviour displayed by these individuals tarnishes the reputation we have worked hard to build and undermines the positive atmosphere we strive to cultivate. We have clear descriptions of the individuals involved and are committed to identifying them. Once identified, we will take appropriate disciplinary action, as such conduct will not be tolerated.
We extend our sincere apologies to the stewards and officials at Hitchin Town for the unacceptable behaviour they were subjected to. We value our relationships with other clubs and regret that the actions of a few individuals have negatively impacted their matchday experience.
We trust that the vast majority of our supporters understand and uphold the values of our club, and we thank them for their continued positive support. We expect all those who represent our club, both at home and away, to do so with respect and dignity.
