Hard Work Pays Off
Hi everyone.
A great win to report.
We haven't had a competitive game recently due to us being knocked out of the Cup by Thurrock but training has gone very well, with an intensity and tempo normally associated with teams from a higher league! The message was from me was to recreate this in our games which we duly did!
The approach to the game was first class. From back to front we were superb, especially our midfield three. A special mention to Ryan Towner. Ryan is a great lad who has had a turbulent year with many testing times. Hopefully he can build on this performance and get back to the "Towns" I know and love.
Another special mention to Luke Robins. He didn't start and wasn't happy but in fairness to him, got his head up when brought on and scored two great goals.
A last bit of praise to our back five! A clean sheet which is what we want from them. A little change due to injuries and an addition of Danny May who slotted in extremely well. "Gus" went in an unfamiliar role of left back and acquitted himself very well. While our central two were strong and and uncompromising.
Now our job is to retain this form. The lads have really got the message which I'm really happy about. To recreate our tempo in training into games.
So a good day for us. Hard work combined with quality finishing!
Keep it up lads. Your manager is very proud of you!!
Cheers,
SC
