HERD HEADS TO THE FIRST TEAM

Royston Town FC is delighted to announce that of 17-year-old local talent, Oscar Herd, has signed first-team forms. The youngster impressed the club’s management with his pre-season performances and his standout displays for both the Under 18s and Under 23 squads.

Herd’s promotion to the first team is a testament to the club’s commitment to developing young players. This signing further reinforces Royston Town’s reputation for providing a clear pathway for aspiring footballers.

Manager Chris Watters expressed his enthusiasm for the young talent:

“Oscar, along with two other lads from the Under 18s, featured for us in pre-season and I envisage that he will be the first of many to come out of our current group to represent the club at First Team level. He’s a hugely promising player with exceptional ability and has earned his place in the first-team squad. We are excited to see him continue to develop and contribute to the club’s success.”

Chris continued:

“Roy Smith and the rest of the Under 18s management have done an incredible job and have put homegrown talent at the top of their agendas and the club continues to see the benefit of this”

Chairman Steve Jackson said:

“The signing of a local lad like Oscar to the First Team squad is also a significant boost for the club, as it strengthens the connection between the team and the community. Fans can look forward to seeing the youngster don the Royston Town shirt and represent the club with pride.”
