Important Trophy Game Ahead
Reporting in to you guys after a Thursday training game held up at Meridian School. It was a mix of first team players reserves and Under 18 lads. All of them did themselves proud by displaying high levels of energy, enthusiasm and talent! I was really pleased with each and everyone of them. The youngsters amongst the group especially showing no fear and being part of a very high intensive exercise.
For me if this is our "second string" it shows our general level at the club is very high!! Well done lads!!
Since our last blog we have had another win at Arlesey Town. 3-1 the score line. Although they may have felt that if their penalty had gone in it may have been different story,we got ourselves in front with a great phase of play involving our front 3 culminating in a emphatic Ryan Ingrey finish. Very happy for Ryan. He works tirelessly in every game, creates chances for both himself and others. Just a little calmer in his finishing and he will get a hatful!
Everything said and done, it's another great win, pushing us into 2nd place. A superb achievement considering the awful start we had.
Not to rest on anything now we have got ourselves up there but a change of focus from the league to Saturday's FA Trophy tie against Great Wakering from the Ryman North League.
I've been busy making calls to managers I know in that League to find out more about them but I truly believe that if we can keep our momentum going and remain playing with the same intensity as we have, we will compete with most.
The Trophy is important to progress in for all sort of reasons. Not only financially but also to keep us positive and keep the belief in the camp!
Back to our training game and a mention of two lads coming back into the fold with us. Kaan Fehmi and Joe De La Salle. Both looked particularly impressive especially with the lack of football both have had recently. Welcome back boys. Good to have you with us!
Cheers,
SC
