No Let Up

Well the run continues! A great win against fellow title challengers in AFC Dunstable. A solitary goal was enough to win us the game. A great finish by John Frendo settled it in a match devoid of many real chances for either side.

Our preparations were not good with yours truly unusually late, no team talk or set plays put up! Sorry boys! I didn’t get the opportunity to talk to any lads regarding selection so I felt a little on the back foot come kick-off time. Thankfully the lads showed superb attitude once more and quickly got on the front foot in a tight encounter. That elusive early goal didn’t come and our opponents clawed their way back into the game with some dangerous set plays. We dealt with them adequately but the threat was always there.

With these lads some having heavy legs from Saturday, I decided to freshen things up pretty quickly in the 2nd half with Kaan coming off for Frazer and Braths coming off for Luke.

No one in my opinion was outstanding but the work rate was exceptional and to win while not fire ring on all cylinders is always a good sign.

Onto the Trophy on Saturday. As far as I’m concerned it’s another very important game. We are at home against a team from the same League. We have had them watched so have an idea on how to go about things.

No let up is the message I have to say! The squad is strong and all are fighting for starting place.

A bit of player news, Spyros Mentis has been playing his football at Soham, helping them to two great victories. With Spyros it’s only to get game time. He is firmly still a Crow and I’m sure will make a contribution to our title push.

15 games played, 33 points accumulated. It’s still so early in the season that no predictions can be accurate. As far as our nearest rivals are concerned they have games in hand over us but they have to win ’em!
Staying injury free is my hope for all of our boys. There will be niggles but as long as we can keep most of the squad fit and healthy, we will compete week in week out.

Hope to see you Saturday??

Cheers
