Now… Back To The League

Well the Trophy run ends after a tight match played at Garden Walk tonight.

We didn’t quite hit the heights needed to win the game but competed throughout but couldn’t find the finishing touch to win.

Fair play to Dulwich who had a major scare at their place, trailing two goals to nil but persisted to draw level and take the tie to a replay. I’m pretty sure they didn’t think that the encounter would have been so tough but did enough to stay in the match and I think the first team to score was going to be the eventual winners!

We had a game plan and after going in at half time playing uphill 0-0 we instructed the lads to press once again like we had done so successfully at their place.

It didn’t quite happen and other than a great effort by Ingers, we didn’t test their goalkeeper enough.

No blame apportioned to any of the boys but when we needed to kick on, tired legs were all over the park and we couldn’t quite manage the final effort required.

Our lads have been fantastic during the run, we can take massive belief from it and go back into the League campaign buoyant to succeed against teams in the same League.

As said back to the League on Saturday. At home to Ashford. My hope is the boys keep their spirits up, keep the belief and carry on our incredible winning run in the League. We have a few games in hand over the new table toppers in Farnborough. We must all remain focused and together. The League is our priority. We have got ourselves in a fantastic position and carry on in the same vein as we have over the last few months.

Cheers
