Pre-Season Update
Hi to you all.
Hope everyone had a great Summer and a good break.
Yes, football's back and I for one can't wait for it all to start properly.
The players have been back now for over two weeks, starting on June 30th. With a mix of hard training and some warm up games, the general feeling has been "So far so good".
ALL of the lads came back with a good basic level of fitness. What was especially pleasing was the exceptional attitude and enthusiasm shown.
As with any pre-season it hasn't all gone "Plain sailing". Our new striker Chris Dillon so far hasn't been involved due to an ankle injury that has impeded him a little. We believe that with the right rehab he will be fine.
Results wise, they have been pretty good with us winning 3 out of the 4 "Warm-up games".
We have tried to get all lads equal game time without picking any injuries up along the way.
For me it starts to get serious now with a game against a "Higher level" team in Wingate & Finchley followed by Stevenage then our first competitive game against Cheshunt in the Herts Charity Cup.
Still classed as friendlies but now with an edge to move us forward towards the start!
A quick welcome to our new recruits.
- Ryan Towner – a lad I worked with at Stevenage, he played for Chesham last year.
- Daniel Brathwaite – another lad who played his football at Chesham.
- Chris Dillon – our recruit from St Neots.
- Lewis Donovan – a young lad who has been out of football for a year getting his teaching qualifications. Now looking to get back into things.
Good luck to you all.
Cheers,
SC
