Support The Crows’ Play-Off Push
Hi to Everyone.
Reporting in to let you all know the weeks events and obviously our fantastic win over Potters Bar.
Training this week has been minimal. The first team only trained Thursday night instead of the usual Tuesday/Thursday routine. This was my call because this stage of the season we are looking at maintaining lads fitness levels. Most of the first team have played plenty of football this season and are as fit as they are going to be. It's just about keeping them fresh and ready for the games coming up.
We trained Thursday and if I'm honest we were a little "Sloppy!" Normally our sessions are very intense and full of quality in my opinion but Thursday for some reason we didn't hit the levels expected. Hopefully it's a " One off" but I did mention it to the lads before Saturdays game. We all have to keep our feet firmly on the ground. We haven't achieved anything yet! As I've said, we have racked up a brilliant set of results recently but we have to keep doing it!
Nothing changes. It's so tight up there in the league that every team has the same agendas, to stay as high up in the league as possible and remain in the top 5. All the teams up there including us have tricky run-ins. Personally although I look at other results we have got ourselves in a position that if we win ALL our remaining matches we not only stay in the play-off spots, we get at least one home tie!
I would love to get more support for the lads? To create an atmosphere is a great boost for everyone. We have one more home game against Chalfont St Peter (April 18th). Please get your friends/ family to come along!!
Back to Saturdays game versus Potters Bar. I for one had an idea that this would be difficult and although we dominated the match, a 1-0 score line is always dangerous. Yet again to keep a clean sheet was most pleasing and our defensive attributes have been the mainstay of our recent games.
On to Barton and what a fixture! Both have loads to play for and I thought they were one of the better teams to visit Garden Walk. They have obviously had a great season also. Sold a player to a "Premier League" team and invested the money to recruit our league's top scorer. Tough opposition but one we are relishing!
If you can, get over and support the "Crows"
Cheers,
SC
