TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW – 29th & 30th March

Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC, Royston Town Women, Royston Town Reserves and Royston Town Vets.

First up, Royston Town Women take a league break, but are playing a very important game as they play fellow league side Stevenage Women in the FINAL of the Women’s Senior Cup at the Herts County Ground at Letchworth, Sunday 2:30pm kick-off. Royston will be looking to defend it after beating Watford U23’s in last year’s final with a 3-1 scoreline with Jordanne Sillitoe, Charlotte South and Lily Hall winning it for the Crows that day. Royston also beat Stevenage at the county ground in the league with a 3-2 win with Emma Slater, Katie Hayes and Lily Hall with Stevenage’s goals were from Amy Gooderham and Amy Makewell.

Next up, Royston Town also have an all Hertfordshire game and they travel to Hitchin Town in the Southern League Premier Central, Saturday, 3pm kick-off. Both clubs will be hoping to win with Royston not having a win in their last 7 matches, while Hitchin need to win to still be in with a chance for Step 3 football next season. Our last meeting ended in a 2-2 draw between the sides in November with James Brighton and Adam Murray putting the Crows 2-0 up within 15 minutes, but a brace from Coree Wilson made it all square.

Next up, Royston Town Reserves host Rothwell Corinthians in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One, Saturday, 3pm kick-off. Royston will be looking to continue their fantastic run at the end of the season where they picked up 3 points against Langford FC in the league on Tuesday night, and are hoping to add more points to their tally when they are away at Rushden & Higham United on Thursday night.
