TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW – February 22nd & 23rd

Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC, Royston
Town Women and Royston Town Reserves.

First up, Royston Town have another weekend home game when they host Stamford AFC from Lincolnshire in the Southern League Premier Central, Saturday, 3pm kick-off. This will be our 3rd home meeting against Stamford with 2 draws with our first meeting was a penalty shootout win after a 2-2 draw in the FA Cup back in 2020 funnily enough they set up a tie against last weekend’s opponents Bishop’s Stortford, while our 2nd home meeting was last season with Royston getting a 1-1 draw with Juwon Akintunde getting our first point of that season.

Next up, Royston Town Women are hoping to play this time round when they host Colney Heath Ladies in the Semi Final of the Herts Women’s Senior Challenge Cup, Sunday, 2pm kick-off. Royston are not looking for a 3rd final in a row and looking to defend their title, they know they will play Stevenage Women in the showpiece final after they beat Watford Ladies Development 7-2.

Last up, Royston Town Reserves travel down the road to take on Stotfold Reserves in the Spartan South Midlands Division One, Saturday, 3pm kick-off. We have only met each other once with Royston winning 4-3 with Jack Davis getting a brace while Henry Silver while Royston Town Women manager Lewis Endacott got the winning goal.
