TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW – Jan 20th & 21st
Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC, Royston Town Women and Royston Town U23’s.
First up Royston Town FC who host AFC Telford United in the Southern League Premier Central. AFC Telford hosted us in the season’s first game and beat us 3-0. Royston Town are top of the form guide in the last 6 league matches with 16 of 18 points while AFC Telford United haven’t lost a league match since 23rd September. So can we see an exciting game prospect? Hopefully, the weather doesn’t spoil it. Also, we would like to welcome AFC Telford United supporters, players and officials a safe journey from Shropshire to Hertfordshire.

Next up Royston Town Women who are in a great run of league form with a perfect 18 points out of 18 are finally back at home when they play local rivals Stevenage in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division this Sunday with a 2 pm kick-off. Our last meeting ended with a 2-1 Royston Town win in the Hertfordshire Women’s Cup with a Charlotte South penalty before Stevenage equalised with a penalty of their own before Laura Mills put us back in front which was the winner of the match. Again this is down to the weather.

Last up Royston Town U23s take a break from League action when they play Rushden & Higham United in the Spartan South Midlands Division One Cup. Royston will want to get back their winning ways after Leighton Town Development ended their twelve-game winning streak in all competitions.
