TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW – Sept 16-17th
Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC and Royston Town Women.
First up it’s FA Cup weekend with Royston Town FC it’s déjà vu in the 2nd Qualifying Round as we play Hemel Hempstead Town again with the only difference being is we’re at home this time.
In last season’s FA Cup Hemel Hempstead Town ran out 3-0 winners, we’ll be wanting some revenge but will be a very difficult game in store.
What league positions are the clubs in?
Royston are 5th in the Southern Premier Central League with 14 points out of 8 games while Hemel Hempstead Town are in 10th place in the National League South with 13 points out of 9 games.
What are both of the clubs best ever FA Cup run?
As we know Royston Town’s best FA Cup run was the 4th Qualifying Round. Hemel Hempstead Town reached the 1st round proper in the 2014/15 FA Cup with an away trip to Gigg Lane to face Bury FC who were in League 2 at the time. Hemel Hempstead lost 3-1 after going 1-0 ahead when both our former striker James Potton put the club ahead.
