TOWNSEND-WEST IN ON LOAN!

 

Royston Town are pleased to announce that 19 year-old defender Mackye Townsend-West has joined on loan from Stevenage FC.

Mackye signed his first professional contract with Stevenage in October 2020.

Whilst still a first-year scholar in Stevenage’s academy, Townsend-West was an unused substitute for the first-team’s 2–0 away defeat at Peterborough United in the FA Cup in November 2019. Townsend-West made his professional debut in the Stevenage’s 3–2 EFL Trophy defeat against MK Dons at Broadhall Way in October 2020.

Stevenage manager Steve Evans is allowing Townsend-West to leave on loan in order to gain first-team experience. Earlier this season Mackye joined National League South club St Albans City on loan in August. Following the completion of that loan deal, Mackye has joined us at Garden Walk and goes straight into the first-team squad for tomorrow’s game at Basford United
