CROWS BLOG: A WEEK TO FORGET

CROWS BLOG: A WEEK TO FORGET

Hi everyone,

As the title suggests, I, for one, want to put last week behind us, so there is very little negativity in this blog today!

Yes, we lost in the FA Cup – in a game where for some good periods we were more than in the game and it was not until a late second-half penalty that the game was not in doubt and could have gone either way.

Off the back of the heavy defeat against Needham Market, we went about Saturday’s game in a more determined mood. Yes, a game plan was put in place and some players were asked to do unusual jobs. But if it wasn’t for one of our ‘old boys’ in Josh Castiglione making an excellent run into our box causing mayhem and setting up their opener. But for that, we had a few opportunities, as did they, but at halftime, we went in feeling like we were ‘well in the game’.

We were reasonably happy. We just needed that equaliser.  However, it didn’t come but not through a lack of trying. If I’m being honest, we didn’t quite show the quality that we know we have! We got a little panicky and didn’t play like we know we could. In fairness to us, we had to freshen things up and maybe the changes were a little disruptive in my opinion.

So as I said, last week was a week to forget but… it’s only a week! We need to knuckle down again and keep together. Games are coming thick and fast so getting lads back from injury will be a priority as well as looking after players’ fitness levels.

On the injury front, Ed seems to be making steady progress, Brights is having a consultation on his knee this week, Isa Rotimi should be having a scan sometime soon and Jay Rolfe is nearly there so a bit of good news to finish up with!

Looking forward to seeing you all soon
