CROWS BLOG: TOUGH TIMES
Hi all,
Unfortunately, we suffered another defeat yesterday and now is the time for me to say to everyone “Let’s stick together”
We are not playing with much confidence at the moment and that needs to change. Yes, there have been players unavailable, and yes, we have had young lads coming into the squad maybe a little before their time – but it is what it is. No complaining, we just have to get on with it.
It was only a week ago that we went up to last year’s playoff contenders, Rushall Olympic, and beat them so we know that it’s in us. But, that performance has been followed by 2 very disappointing results and not surprisingly there is an atmosphere amongst us that needs to be eliminated straight away!
Now is the time for ALL of us to roll up our sleeves and dig deep. The boys, the staff and myself have all got to look at ourselves and improve. It is definitely within us but now is not the time to feel sorry for one another. We have another massive game this Saturday when we travel to Stratford in the FA Trophy. We need to look forward to it so that we can actually do something about the situation.
Hopefully what I am portraying to you is a determination for us to get back on track. It isn’t easy but I believe in these boys. Yes, a few adjustments and possibly a few additions may be needed but generally, these players have done well for us over several seasons and I’m sure that things will get better quickly.
In my opinion, the League isn’t as strong this year as last year and a run of positive results will lift us into a reasonable position to progress. But this will require hard work and belief and that is what I’m asking for from the group now – come into training, be positive, train hard Tuesday, train hard Thursday and we go again Saturday!
What I’m asking is not easy and personally, it’s probably one of the few times in my tenure here that we need to really ‘dig in’ and work even harder for each other, the club and the supporters!
I’m sure better times are ahead!
Cheers,
Steve C
