CROWS BLOG: WHAT A DAY!

 

Hi all,

Well, we bounced back! And in some style too!

To a player, the boys were superb on Saturday!

It wasn’t easy and for large parts of the game we were behind but the resilience the group showed was remarkable. To come back and win with 10 players showed just what character these boys possess.

We were on the back foot from the start. Not having Muzza, Spyros or Mense  to choose from was tough but the players that started the game dealt with it with a confident approach.

We lacked a bit of height in the side and unfortunately, it showed with the goals that we conceded. But to their credit, the lads didn’t let it affect their approach and they kept at it and, in my opinion, they got their just rewards!

Everyone pulled together to get a great result – the experienced lads, the young uns – they all pulled together to secure a great comeback victory. The character and togetherness in this group were clearly evident from the coach journey up to Rushall but transferring that to an on-pitch performance is a different matter.

To be on the coach on the way back home was a privilege because the players had really deserved their victory and fair play to all of ’em!

But we can’t rest on anything now. We need to push on and getting a home victory is of paramount importance now. We can’t relax and enjoy anything we now need to push on. Whatever 11 we decide to put out on the pitch we are sure that we are a group that will progress. The players need to realise that and my message to them is:

Well done for Saturday but now you need to push on and keep your place, regardless of possible players coming in!
