Town Vets avenged their only defeat of the season with a 1-0 win over Cambridge Vets on Monday night at Garden Walk and in doing so extended their run of clean sheets to three.

It was a game of very few chances with the majority of play in midfield and Town were good value for their win. The defence, with Stuart Brown and Stuart Moulding in control in the centre and well supported by Adam Smith and Geoff Pinner at full-back, were rarely troubled by the visitors’ front line.

The winning goal for Town came mid-way through the first half and was a spectacular effort from Carlo Silenti. His right-foot shot from 40 yards sailed over the ‘keeper’s head into the roof of the net.
