Result | Won 3-1 |

Royston Town's new look youth team took on their counterparts from St Margaretsbury FC in their first pre-season fixture of the season.
With a number of new faces, the management team of Jorden Gibson and Stuart Jackson were impressed with how quickly the team had gelled. With the game allowing all players the chance to express themselves and play with a creative freedom, the young Crows went out with the intention to pass the ball at tempo and display a fluent attacking style.
Royston got off to a perfect start 10 minutes into the game when Harry Geir raced through to score his first goal for the club as he chipped the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper, He then scored his brace with a similar goal midway through the half.
Newly appointed captain Matt Brennan along with vice-captain Jamie Steele ensured that they kept the same tempo and worked hard to retain possession.
St Margaretsbury scored with five minutes to go after a lapse in concentration allowed the visitors to lift the ball over a helpless Harry Reynolds.
Striker Jake Booth scored midway through the second half as he rounded the goalkeeper to neatly slot home. Royston continued throughout the second half with the same mentality and Booth had two glorious chances as well as a disallowed goal before the referee finally brought an end to the game.
