Royston went into the game with confidence after a fantastic battling draw against one of teams in the top four last week. So for the second consecutive week the visitors, Wymondley Park who currently hold the fourth spot were sent home disappointed. The game started with both teams trying to come to terms with the blustering wind when following a goalmouth melee, Man of the match, Bradley C fired Royston in front from ten yards. The Royston center midfield of Bradley C, Tom McG and Troy M were superb snuffing out any danger and counter attacking with ease. Although goal chances were at a premium Wymondley did equalise just before halftime when a high ball was bundled over the line. The second half started with the wind in favour of Royston and with the ominous pace of Jamie O’C causing the visitors defence problems it wasn’t too long before Royston went in front again. Royston won an indirect free kick just outside the penalty area – Bradley C touched it to Josh T who unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner. It was all Royston and they could have gone further ahead if it wasn’t for the wind, but they didn’t have to wait too long when debutant James E was fouled in the box and the resulting penalty was despatched by Bradley C. Bradley C then completed his hat trick with a fine run and shot following good work from Harry B. Royston still had enough time to score their fifth when Cameron S burst through the middle to lob the keeper from just outside the box.
