It was the Crows who clipped the Ravens wings, as Royston won the battle of the birds at a sun kissed Garden Walk.
Throughout the 90 minutes there was little to choose between the teams, but it was Royston who showed a greater determination to keep a clean sheet and it was also they who were more clinical in front of goal.
This was demonstrated in the 21st minute as Adam Murray latched onto Joe Welch’s long clearance and lobbed away custodian Richard Walton to give Royston the lead.
The advantage was doubled early in the second half, as Eren Kinali converted a penalty, after debutant Tom Knowles had been brought down.
All through the game Coalville posed a threat, but with Dan Brathwaite leading by example at the back and Joe Welch once again in imposing form, the home side recorded a third successive clean sheet and a third successive victory.
